HOW TO APPLY PENNSAID

Simply put 10 drops of PENNSAID in your hand and apply to each side of the knee for a total of 40 drops.
Unlike other topical OA treatments, there are no tools needed for accurate dosing with PENNSAID.

THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN APPLYING PENNSAID:

  • Always wash your hands before and after applying PENNSAID. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth
  • Apply PENNSAID on clean, dry skin that does not have any cuts, infections, or rashes
  • Be sure to wait until your knee is completely dry before you use any lotions or moisturizers on your knee
  • Wait to take a shower or a bath for at least 30 minutes after applying PENNSAID
  • Do not use heating pads or apply bandages to the affected knee(s)
  • Protect your treated knee(s) from sunlight or artificial light (tanning booths)
  • Do not cover your knee with clothing until your knee is completely dry

Use PENNSAID as prescribed by your doctor. The recommended dose is 40 drops, 4 times per day. Any amount exceeding or less than the recommended dose has not been studied and is therefore not recommended.

INDICATION
PENNSAID® is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for treating the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee(s).

IMPORTANT RISK INFORMATION

WARNING: CARDIOVASCULAR (CV) AND GASTROINTESTINAL (GI) RISK
    Cardiovascular Risk
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase the risk of serious blood clots in the heart, or cause a heart attack or stroke. These risks can cause death. The risk may increase the longer NSAIDs are used. Patients who have heart disease or are at risk for heart disease may be at greater risk
  • Do not use PENNSAID in patients who are in the hospital for heart bypass surgery grafts
    Gastrointestinal Risk
  • NSAIDs cause an increased risk of serious stomach problems or problems in the intestines. Patients could bleed or develop a hole in their stomach or intestines. All of these problems can cause death. These problems can happen at any time with no warning when using NSAIDs. Older patients are at greater risk for these problems
